Artist's Description
The deserted village of Port is in County Donegal, Ireland and is thought to have been abandoned during the potato famine. What is unusual is that everyone left and no one remained behind. It was once a busy village and the only port in Donegal. It's a beautiful, remote spot and a few stone ruins of the old village remain. We thought it was well worth the trip to explore the area and remains in our minds as one of the most interesting places we visited.

A shaft of morning sunlight through the trees after a stormy evening, the tranquility of cows grazing in a pasture, rapids sparkling with light on a particularly clear day, these are examples of everyday things that inspire me to paint.
