I did this still life painting with soft pastels on archival paper. The apple has a timeless feeling in this painting with the edge of the table looking like the horizon and the deep shadow of the apple making it very stable and solid.

A shaft of morning sunlight through the trees after a stormy evening, the tranquility of cows grazing in a pasture, rapids sparkling with light on a particularly clear day, these are examples of everyday things that inspire me to paint.
