This beautiful storm over Haiti's Baie de I'acyl inspired me to do this painting. My son was located there while working to preserve the Haitian coral reefs. When I saw this photo, I had to paint it. A shaft of morning sunlight through the trees after a stormy evening, the tranquility of cows grazing in a pasture, rapids sparkling with light on a particularly clear day, these are examples of everyday things that inspire me to paint.
